Summary
Access points should provide a front end to the SIESTA project, and the
eSussex web site in particular, for those groups or individuals not able or willing to
have their own equipment for Internet access
Click
here for a list of access points on the eSussex site
Aims
- The project will provide one or more computers with Internet access
so that groups can search the eSussex site and engage in its content development or
discussion areas. Locations need to be available equally for communities that are
geographical as well as communities of interest
- Support users and community groups and enable them to engage in
SIESTA whether online or not. One individual in each organisation to be the main contact
person although better to have all staff and volunteers up to speed too. Help provide
additional material to go in the resource pack
- Provide feedback and support the project manager in developing
monitoring tools for the SIESTA project to explore the impact such technology can have on
how groups function and use information
- Provide publicity to the project via newsletters, meetings, drop-in
sessions, events etc
- Work with other organisations as well as the project partners so
that Internet access can be as wide and available as possible. Due care is needed to
ensure disabled people or those with other mobility, remoteness or practical obstacles can
be catered for
A document assisting groups to share their computer with clients
and the general public, is being developed, as part of the need for a meaningful exit
strategy.
